Celebrating My Nails!

I mentioned in a previous post that a nice lady commented on my nails. She thought I had fake nails and when I told her my nails are real she mentioned to me that she uses Shellac and her nails are awful. I told her about a few things that I've used and encouraged her to try them out under nail polish for a while and see if her nails will strengthen up and get prettier. It was a nice moment to encourage someone to embrace her nails and make then pretty again so she can proudly display them!

With that I want to take some time to celebrate my own nails! When I started this blog back in February I took some photos of my nails at the time. You can see the original post Here or click on 'naked nails' in my Labels. Here are what my nails look like today. (Before the tear last week)

I can't seem to get rid of the stains :( I've used a stain remover and I ALWAYS use a base coat and yet my nails are determined to be yellow. I'm pretty sure my cuticles hate me too. Oie! I'm just glad my nails are stronger and healthier!

Click to see the mani that followed :)

Its really nice to have long nails and for the first time they are all about the same length! (Except my pinkies!) I decided to celebrate by doing a French manicure! Well, something like that anyway. :) I used Julep Jennifer (2 coats), then SC Glass Pink, then Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear: White On for stamping and OPI Kyoto Pearl for tips, a layer of Julep Ellie and topped it off with a rhinestone and my newly purchased Seche Vite!

Side Note- do you remember when I ripped my nail last week? This is the mani I was wearing. Taking off all those layers of polish without getting the remover in the 'cut' took forever! The following pics are all shade and sun. I'll you figure out which is which. ;)

I liked stamping with this polish. The Insta Dry didn't work out for me so well and this was easier.
I put the rhinestone on the big star on my ring finger.

You can kind of see the green shift in this next picture- taken in the shade.
The green shift was hard to capture.

I hope you like this. I'm proud of it :) Still getting the hang of stamping but this turned out pretty well.

  1. Hello! I am your 30th follower :) I read somewhere (I can't remember where) that if you use whiting toothpaste on stained nails, it helps. I have yet to try it, lol.
